Paul Danis is the Founder and Principal of Eastwoods Consulting, a strategy and advisory firm helping life science companies grow their businesses through the commercialization of new technologies, the establishment of new partnerships, and guidance on M&A. He has over 20 years’ experience in the field, in business strategy and operations, as well as scientific research. Prior to founding Eastwoods Consulting, he was Director at Applied Biosystems, responsible for the leadership and operation of the proteomics systems business, and was Senior Manager of instrumentation products at PerSeptive Biosystems. Additionally Paul was Group Leader at Rohm and Haas Research Laboratories, and a Post-doctoral Fellow at the University of Basel in Switzerland. He has a Ph.D. from Cornell University in Analytical and Physical Chemistry.

Frank Hoy is the Paul Beswick Professor of Entrepreneurship and Director of the Collaborative for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He has a Ph.D. in Management from Texas A&M University. From 1991 to 2001, Dr. Hoy served as dean of the College of Business Administration at UTEP, where he launched UTEP’s Centers for Entrepreneurial Development, Advancement, Research and Support. Prior to UTEP, he was professor at Georgia State University. Dr. Hoy’s concentrations are entrepreneurship, economic development, and franchising. He is a past editor of Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, and was editor for Latin America for the Journal of World Business. His most recently co-authored books are Entrepreneurial Family Firms (2010) and Small Business Management (2012). Hoy is a Fellow of the Family Firm Institute, the International Council for Small Business, the International Family Enterprise Research Academy, and the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
